Cheap Headlight For Your Motocross Bike
I enjoy getting on my mountain bike and ride areas where motorcycles are restricted. I wanted the most powerful headlight I could find for my bicycle. I bought a Cateye HL-EL530 LED headlight...and wow! At 1,500 candlepower, It was bright. It weighs less than 8 ounces and takes four AA batteries. The batteries last 90 hours! It cost less than $45.
This light is bright enough that I would try it on my YZ 250. It works great! It is not bright enough for fast trail riding, but it will get me back to camp if I get caught out in the dark. It is not as bright as a enduro headlight, but it is better than sleeping with the cougars and snakes. I do think this light is brighter that the headlights on my old 1964 VW Bug.
Installation was easy, as It snaps right on the handlebar. To add an enduro lighting system with stator on my YZ would cost over $250. Since I don't like riding fast dirt bikes at night, I use the Cateye just to get me back to camp. Since the batteries last 90 hours, it works great around camp as a flashlight. It is twice as powerful as my Mag light. It is small enough to carry in a jacket pocket.
